Leonidas lives on a peaceful land inhabited by an unknown Dragonborn tribe, exclusively known to them, as Safe Haven. Unknown and relatively secluded, located in a valley at the base of the Visuian Mountain Range. He became one of several magic wielders who were charged with powering Safe Haven’s defensive arcane barrier in the possible event of a war. One day, a ruthless Dragonborn Warlock named Zeidan Shadowsoul, along with several hundreds of cultist minions, mounted an unrelenting assault across the land, soon setting their sights on the tribe.

As the casualties increased, Leonidas volunteered to fight on the frontlines, but the tribe chief denied him the chance and ordered him to continue to power the barrier. Later that day, after expressing his concerns to his mother, she reveals that the cult attacking them, is the Crimson Claws Cult, a cult lead by Zeidan Shadowsoul with a goal to raise a now dead Black Dragon by capturing the souls of their sacrificial victims and using them to empower the dragon’s remains they have hidden in an underground complex beneath an imposing black mountain, a cult that their entire family tree has also been members of. When Leonidas was just an infant, evidence of his innate magic power was detected by the cult’s leader, who planned to add him to the list of sacrifices to aid in the Black Dragon’s resurrection. Not wanting to lose him, his mother and father fled from the cult under the cover of night. However, his father died during the escape, having been shot with an arrow. After months on the road, they were greeted by a fellow Dragonborn, who’s later revealed to be the daughter of an elder. She leads them to a secret entrance leading into a vast tunnel network that cuts through a mountain. After traversing the vast cavern maze, they are led to Safe Haven.

After telling him this, she asks if he’s sure he wants to carry through with this mission, even though the enemy he’s up against may be after him. Leonidas is still adamant on caring through. His mom gives him a silver plated amulet that has an azure colored diamond at its center. She states that it belonged to his father and has been part of the family tree for generations. After taking the amulet, Leonidas leaves the safety of the shield to begin the search for the Warlock’s hideout.

While exploring the heavily forested area, he’s ambushed by a group of the warlock’s cultists. He put up a fight in defense, but was ultimately knocked unconscious by an attack from behind.

In a cave, Leonidas awakens, muzzled and bound to a sacrificial altar, surrounded by cultists, and face to face with Zeidan Shadowsoul himself. Now he has obtained a soul infused with arcane energy, Zeidan proclaims that raising the Black Dragon will soon come to fruition. As a nearby cultist brandishes a sacrificial dagger, Zeidan prepares to cast a Soul Cage spell. At this moment, Leonidas frantically looks around and spots his belongings in one corner of the cave as well as a path to the exit. With a plan in place, he begins to build up his fire breath weapon, increasing his body temperature. As the cultest approached the altar with the dagger, the chains binding Leonidas had weakened. At the last second, Leonidas breaks the chains and quickly casts Thunderwave, throwing everyone off balance. This buys him enough time to jump off the altar and make a break for a nearby tunnel. However, Zeidan is quick to recover and attacks him with Eldritch Blast. Leonidas reactively casts a spell and unknowingly casts Chromatic Orb as a counter. The two magic attacks collide and explode, allowing Leonidas to escape into the tunnel system.

At sunrise, he made his way back into the valley and returned to the safety of the arcane barrier. The tribe chief, furious that Leonidas had disobeyed his orders, nearly exiles him, that is until Leonidas conveys what he’s found. Immediately, the tribe's warriors are mobilized to attack Zeidan’s hideout, and this time, Leonidas is included in the ranks, and is leading the assault straight to the enemy. With this sudden and unrelenting surprise attack, Zeidan along with the rest of his followers are forced to retreat. After this event, knowing that his tribe is now safe, leaves to explore the world.
