History: Sold as a small child to a slaver, Richard was an assistant, and all too frequently test subject. He eventually earned his freedom when his former master disappeared. He graduated from the Naval Academy and went to see the world at the rank of Ensign. He advanced relatively quickly due to his good work ethic, understanding of the chain of command, and natural leadership ability. He was recently attacked on the road and savagely beaten by bandits.

Personality: He is erratic and paranoid. He believes illithids are coming to abduct people. He refers to his adoptive mother for almost all things he is unsure about, which are numerous. He is very much still a child and has not developed a drive for self-dependency.

History: Born to a Fletcher, his mother struggled to pay the bills. When money was particularly tight he was walking through alleys when he overheard a Sellsword hiring some criminals to sabotage a competitor. He made his way to the other competitor and parlayed his knowledge into a job. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to illithids demanding more tribute than usual.

History: Gifted from a young age, Dean studied abroad. He went to a religious school and was inspired by the priests there in charitable deeds. He is untrained/undisciplined, which makes him dangerous.

History: Raised by wardens he was only a novice when orcs swooped upon their monastery and killed most of the order. He was an apprentice working in his mother's forge. He has taken up leadership of the village's small militia in response to orcs demanding more tribute than usual.

Motivation: He is unsatisfied with his job; and his name or reputation has been wronged in the past by orcs, and he desires to right it
